Write about what you have learnt about the lino print making process?

Along this way i have learnt a lot of new things this term ,i have learnt cutting out the lino using  lino tools ,i have learnt how to curve out the lines in my lino print ,and I have learnt how to roll along my lino,without it being unregistered ,i have been taught how to make my print registered .The reason why we have to make it registered because the black helps it glow when it’s on the paper .First we have to cut it out properly to make it look like it was a portrait .Then paint it .

What new skills have you learnt?  What did you improve at?

During this term I have learnt a lot of new things and improve so much this term .This term was basically the only term I have improved on my art ,because i have made my art more outstanding than my first art at the starting of the year .I have learnt more stuff and more rules to make my art more  interesting and registered .

How well did you create tone and texture on your print?

This term i need to improve on my tone and texture ,i need to make the dark areas more obvious and make it look like it is a sketching portrait not a drawing . I need make my art more emotional and to put more texture on my art .

What could you have done better?  If you were going to complete another print, what would you do differently?

Next term For my art I would change my face so it  would actually look like me and i would change the nose so it would look like a real nose and basically i would change every little bit of my portrait so it would look like me not someone else .

Milestone Achievement

Last week on Friday i had a conference with Mrs harris because i need a sticker to put on my milestone sheet ,i had achieved two milestones it was performing arts ,oral presentation i am very proud of my self for achieving the because I have waited all this year just to achieve a milestone and i have but two  .

Today at 10.00 I had my smarties reading group it felt nervous because I am not good at the question for Discussion Director,at first Trinity our Discussion Director was the leader for today ,she gave us our questions and we had to answered it with out looking in the book ,but i had to look in the book because I had a question that i didn't know so i had to look in it ,Then She asked Maddison Who was our Movie maker to show us her role she did ,then she went on to me and I was connection maker i had to tell them what connects to me ,Connects to the world and then  connects to a book I did it and showed it to my group ,Then we went on to our two last people it was Carla and Mrs Harris they showed us there role then we went on to talk about the book I went a little bit quiet because I didn't know what to say .

Today me and half of the whet u and marama went down to the ngatea courts and played Hauraki 7's ,ngatea 1 had a new person to play with, it felt very nervous but in the end ngatea 1 won the tournaments we were all proud of our selfs for winning this tournaments because it was a first time to win this tournament .  


For our prize we won a ball like this.

On Tuesday me and some other people went with twirls in to the library and read our speeches out ,it felt nervous at the start but in the end it felt good to get it over and done with ,It  was very cool to hear different subject to hear  about  and learn .Doing speeches feel very nervous because you don't feel like it is cool or not cool it  just makes my heart pound so hard because you try not to muck up .

My speech was about my hero .My dad Barton Thompson.

A boy called griffin had walked  into the silk family's house after his big sisters ,his dad had considered the date of griffins birth was the 29th of february and that made him an uncommon sort of boy ,he had wished that he was born on the 28th of february or the 1st of march but I  guess not .he went in to his school and his teacher told everybody that this is a new boy called griffin “please make him welcome” and his teacher said “that he was a grade ahead of the other children” and put him into a class where all the students were older than him.All the  students said that he was the teachers pet because he had answered all the questions .After school Griffin had seen the mean people that had been mean to him shutting their lockers and riding down the street . After a while when griffin was still walking home griffin had meet a girl called layla that had tried to catch up to him but he tried to step to the side so that she could walk past .But she didn't .he hid under the tree and the girl layla had seen him and was talking to him .
